Teachers' Programs
Annette brings 15 years of college teaching experience as well as eight years experience working with elementary and middle-school age kids, to your conference, workshop, or in-service training. Her inspirational talks and workshops help teachers navigate through the shark-infested waters of social studies curriculum to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences for their students, and themselves. As a professional historian, she is well-placed to help teachers understand and communicate what is truly important about the study of history.  Annette has presented at meetings of the National Council for the Social Studies, and state social studies councils in California, Georgia, and North Carolina. Her presentations include:

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About History...
In this talk to elementary and middle school social studies teachers, Annette reveals the secrets about the discipline of history, and its importance, that are not usually revealed to undergrad students. She also brings good news to anyone who has ever been lost in the thickets of overly complicated state curricula.

Non-Boring History in a Nutshell
This workshop explores how teachers can inspire their students to learn more effectively through role-play, humor, and hands-on artifacts, in ways that take little time but have more lasting value than cramming for tests. Based on Annette's creative approach to history, this program will have teachers buzzing.
